back2beyond / event visuals — creative technology & led-ring-konzept

For the Belgian edition of Red Bull Back2Beyond at the Eskimofabriek in Gent (7 December 2024), Jakob Hütter developed the generative real-time visual setup and the LED-ring concept together with Jascha Süss and Lucas Dikany. The format arranges three DJ booths in a circle around the dance floor, the audience in between, the acts playing back-to-back.

A see-through LED ring hung above each booth; all three were driven in mirror sync. The imagery was generated entirely and audio-reactively in TouchDesigner — the main tool — and rendered in real time on two RTX 4090 mini-PCs combined into a single server. ZERROR (404 ZERO) was used as the preset manager.

The project was commissioned by Red Bull to Jascha Süss (lead artist). Jakob Hütter delivered the majority of the implementation — from system architecture and the generative setup to the LED-ring concept — and ran the performance on site together with Lucas Dikany. The line-up featured Malugi, EMILIJA, DJ Boring and Young Marco.
