retro-generative session
In summer, in collaboration with the Darian Trio (then a duo), Alison Frilingos (cello) and Anaïs Tamisier (violin), I developed an audiovisual performance for the reopening of the French Institute. Exclusively contemporary pieces by French composers (Benoit, Hersant, etc.) were interpreted.
In early childhood, the VHS tape Fantasia (Disney, 1940) – and Oskar Fischinger’s animations of Bach’s fugue in particular – gave me a love for abstract film and the visualisation of music.
Starting from Oskar Fischinger’s abstract work, I try to develop a visual language using the generative software ‘TouchDesigner’ that, adapted in speed and rhythm, functions as a contemporary analogy.
